Our Story SO FAR..
Having spent around 20 years working within the emergency services and various community groups, it became obvious to Mark (one of our founders) that there was a huge amount of really great community engagement, health and safety work being delivered in and around Hertfordshire, but with no standard message or consistency of delivery.
Mark felt that this ad hoc approach was no longer good enough so, equipped with a huge amount of enthusiasm and a firm belief that something needed to be done, he began to plan a solution.
Mark and his partner Michelle, an entrepreneur and successful businesswoman in her own right, bought a 1987 Dennis Carmichael fire engine and shared their plans with two great friends, Abi and Matt!
Five months and a ton of hard work later, Ladder 87 Company, The Ladder Crew and The Little Ladder Crew were born.
A huge amount has been achieved since and some amazing people have joined our journey as we reach out into the local community, but this is just the beginning...
We are already developing new elements to add to our business, all of which will further reinforce the importance of learning in order to support the adoption of health, safety and positive behaviours into children’s daily lives. At the moment we do this through:
- Children's parties
- Community events
- The Ladder 87 Academy
